01 Our story
A long-standing ambition,
finally built.
Chilverstone Engineering was founded in 2026 to do the work the founder had been doing for other people for [XX]+ years — but with his own name on the door. The plan was never complicated: a workshop set up properly, machines maintained properly, and every part made to the drawing rather than near enough.
The company is brand new and says so. There is no decade of trading history to lean on, no wall of certificates and no invented customer list. What there is instead is [XX]+ years of hands-on turning, milling, fitting and fabrication experience, a new workshop, and a founder who answers the phone.
We would rather be judged on the first job you send us than on a paragraph of marketing. So send us something awkward and see how we do.
02 The founder

[FOUNDER NAME] has spent [XX]+ years in engineering workshops, learning the trade the long way: on manual machines first, then programming and running CNC turning and machining centres, then picking up fabrication and welding to keep jobs in-house instead of passing them around.
Why start again in 2026? Because the parts that get remembered are the ones made by the person who quoted them. Running a small workshop means the drawing is read by the engineer who will cut the metal, questions get asked before the first cut rather than after delivery, and if a job is outside our capability we say so early.
If I would not put the part on my own machine, I will not put it on the quote.

05 How we work
Checked before,
during and after.
A simple quality approach that fits a small workshop: no paperwork theatre, just checks that catch problems before the part leaves.
Drawings checked before cutting
Every drawing is read properly first. Missing dimensions, unclear tolerances and impossible features get raised before material is touched.
In-process checks
Dimensions are checked as the job runs, not only at the end, so a drift in size is caught while there is still material to correct it.
Inspection before dispatch
Finished parts are measured against the drawing and the agreed tolerances, then deburred and finished properly before packing.
Records kept per job
Set-up notes and inspection results are kept for each job, so repeat batches and reorders can be made consistently.
