Who we are
A new company with experienced hands
Chilverstone Engineering is a brand new workshop, established in 2026, with no trading history to point at yet. What it does have is the person doing the work: [FOUNDER NAME], who brings [XX]+ years of hands-on engineering experience to every job.
So you are not routed through a sales team or a shared inbox. You send a drawing, you speak to the engineer who will make the part, and you get a straight answer on price, lead time and whether the job is one we should take on at all.
Why a new workshop can be an advantage
We are new, and we are honest about that. What it means in practice is that every enquiry gets the attention of the person who will actually make the part.
You deal directly with the engineer
The person who quotes your job is the person who sets it up, machines it and checks it.
No layers of account management
Questions go straight to the bench, so answers come back quickly and in plain English.
Attention to detail on every job
Drawings are checked before cutting, parts are checked during machining and inspected before dispatch.

We are quoting competitively as we build a track record, and we will always explain what drives the price.

We have no standing reputation to hide behind yet, so each part has to be right.

If a job is outside our capability or better suited elsewhere, we will tell you rather than take it on.

The machine groups on the shop floor
This is a working list. Full specifications for each machine are being confirmed and will be published on the machinery page once they are finalised.
- CNC lathes — turned parts up to the machine envelope (TBC)
- CNC machining centres — milled plates, brackets and profiles (TBC)
- Manual lathes and milling machines — one-offs, repairs and fitting work
- Sawing and material preparation — bar, tube and plate cut to size
- Fabrication and welding plant — frames, guards, stands and modifications
- Inspection and metrology — micrometers, calipers, gauges and standards (TBC)

Questions we get asked
Straight answers before you send anything
Yes. A dimensioned drawing is ideal, but we regularly work from a clear sketch, a photograph with measurements, or a sample part sent in for us to measure. If something is unclear we will ask before we start rather than guess.
One-offs are a large part of what we expect to do. Single parts, prototypes, spares and replacement components are all welcome, alongside small and medium batch runs.
PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP and IGES are all fine, along with photographs and details of quantities, material, tolerances, finish and the date you need the parts. Large files can be sent by email or as a download link.
We aim to respond within [X] working hours, and most straightforward jobs can be quoted from a drawing without a further conversation. Complex or unclear jobs may need a call first, and we will tell you if that is the case.
Collection and delivery can be arranged — arrangements and any costs depend on the location and the size of the job, so tell us where you are and we will confirm what is possible. Collection from the workshop is always welcome.
Price & lead-time expectations
Price depends mainly on material, quantity, tolerance and finish. As a new workshop we are quoting keenly while we build our portfolio, but we will never cut corners to hit a number — if a tolerance or finish is not achievable at the price you have in mind, we will say so.
Every job gets a confirmed lead time in writing with the quote, and we will tell you straight away if the date you need is not realistic.
