What we offer

From a single replacement part to a repeat batch

Everything below is work we are set up to take on in-house, from one-off components through to small and medium production runs. Each service has a note on the kind of work it covers and what to send us so we can quote quickly.

The eight services in detail

Service 01

CNC Turning

Round parts turned to drawing, whether that is one shaft to get a machine running again or a batch of five hundred spacers.

CNC turning covers anything that has to be round and true: shafts, bushes, spacers, pins, threaded parts, bearings seats and stepped profiles. We work from a dimensioned drawing where you have one, and from a measured sample where you do not. Both one-offs and batch work run on the same machines, so the set-up that proves the first part is the set-up that makes the rest.

What to send us

A drawing or sketch showing diameter, length and thread details, the material, the quantities you need and any tolerance that matters to the fit. A photograph of the worn part helps if the drawing is missing.

Service 02

CNC Milling

Plates, brackets and profiles machined from solid, with pockets, slots, holes and tapped features where you need them.

Milling work starts from plate, block or bar and ends with a finished component that fits first time. We machine profiles, pockets, slots, counterbores and tapped holes, and we will flag a design detail that is going to be awkward or expensive to cut before the job starts rather than after.

  • Drilling, tapping, counterboring and spot-facing

What to send us

A drawing or DXF showing the outline, hole positions, thread sizes, material and thickness. If the part has to bolt to something existing, tell us what and we will work to the mating dimensions.

Service 03

Precision Machining & Fitting

Boring, reaming, fits and clearances — including bringing worn parts back to size instead of replacing them.

This is the fitting side of the workshop: work where the number on the drawing matters and the part has to go together with something else. That includes reaming for a press or sliding fit, boring out a housing, reclaiming a worn bore or journal, and hand-fitting where a machine cannot reach. Worn parts can often be reworked to an oversize or a repair bush rather than remade, which is usually faster and cheaper.

The parts themselves where possible, or the measured dimensions and the fit you need (for example "press fit" or "sliding fit"), plus what the assembly has to do.

Service 04

Fabrication & Welding

Frames, guards, brackets and stands — new work, repairs and modifications in mild steel, stainless and aluminium.

Fabrication covers anything built up rather than cut from solid: machine guards, trolleys, stands, frames, ducting brackets and structural repair work. We cut, drill, weld and finish, and we can work from a sketch on the back of an envelope or from a full drawing set. Modification of existing equipment is a common request — raising a guard, adding a mounting point, repairing a cracked frame.

Overall sizes, material, thickness, and where it will be fixed. A photograph of the equipment it has to fit, with a couple of key dimensions, is usually enough for us to quote.

Service 05

Prototypes & One-Offs

From a drawing, a sketch or a sample part — including advice on making it easier and cheaper to manufacture.

Prototype work is where a workshop earns its keep, because the first version of anything raises questions. We will tell you if a feature is going to be difficult to machine, if a tolerance is tighter than the function needs, or if a small design change would take cost out of the part without affecting how it works. You get the part and the feedback.

What to send us

Whatever you have: a sketch with dimensions, a CAD model, a photograph, or the original part. Say what the part has to do and which dimensions are critical, and we will work the rest out with you.

Service 06

Batch & Repeat Production

Small to medium batches with repeatable set-ups, so part two hundred matches part one.

Once a set-up is proven, a batch becomes a question of consistency. We keep the set-up and the records for each job, so a repeat order can be run to the same drawing, the same material and the same inspection checks. That matters most where parts have to be interchangeable — fittings, spacers, brackets and replacement components.

A drawing with tolerances, the quantity you need now and the quantity you expect to need again, plus the required date. That lets us quote both a one-off price and a repeat price.

Service 07

Repairs, Modifications & Reverse Engineering

Measure, model and remake obsolete or broken components — often when there is no drawing and no spare available.

Machines break, parts wear out and drawings go missing. Bring us the broken part, or a photograph with a few key dimensions, and we will measure it, work out what it was meant to be, and make a replacement. Where a failure has a cause — a bush that was too soft, a shaft with a sharp step — we will say so, because remaking the same part the same way just resets the clock.

  • Modifications to improve a weak point

The broken or worn part if you can, or clear photographs with overall dimensions, plus what the part does and how it failed. Tell us how quickly you need it — we will be honest about what is possible.

Service 08

Assembly, Finishing & Fitting

Deburring, finishing, pressing, fitting and assembly — so you receive something that is ready to use.

Parts arriving with sharp edges, swarf or a rough finish cost time at the other end. We deburr, finish and assemble where that is useful, including pressing bearings and bushes, fitting keys and fasteners, and putting together a complete item from several machined components before it is dispatched.

How it works

Four steps from drawing to delivery

No portals, no forms to fill in three times. Send the information once and we will take it from there.

    Send your drawings

    Email the drawings, sketches, photographs or CAD files, or send the part itself. Include quantities, material and the date you need it.

  2. 2

    We quote

    We come back with a price, a lead time and any questions. If something in the drawing needs clarifying we will ask before quoting, not after.

  3. 3

    We manufacture

    Material is prepared, the set-up is proven on a first-off and the job is machined or fabricated with checks along the way.

  4. 4

    Inspect & dispatch

    Parts are inspected against the drawing, finished and packed, then collected or delivered as agreed. Records are kept for reorders.

What to include in your enquiry

The more of this you can give us first time, the quicker and more accurate the quote will be.

  • Drawings — PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES, with a sketch or photograph if that is all you have
  • Quantities — the number you need now, and any repeat quantity you expect
  • Material — or tell us what the part has to do and we will suggest one
  • Tolerances — the critical ones, so we do not over-machine the rest
  • Finish — as-machined, deburred, painted or plated
  • Required date — so we can be honest about the lead time before you commit
